​City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Internship, Summer 2021

I worked as an intern for the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation department from May 17, 2021 to August 4, 2021. I was able to be involved in all of the summer programming as well as special events. Some of those events are shown below. It was a great hands-on experience being involved from beginning to end in the planning and production. I learned a lot and was able to apply concepts that I had previously only learned in class. Along with all of the parks and recreation experience, I also attended a Conroe City Council meeting, helped to announce the line-up for the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival on a local radio station, and visited the Conroe Convention and Visitors Bureau to learn what they do to promote the Conroe area. And as you can see from my last picture, it was sometimes dirty, physical labor.
